In Chinese and Korean cultures 100 days after a baby’s birth is an important milestone. It is a celebration of the hope that baby will live for 100 years and also a celebration of both parents and baby getting through the first 100 days.
Like many traditions, celebrations have evolved over the years and recently I have had many parents choose to mark this important milestone with a 100 day baby photography session.
Whether it is for cultural reasons or not, around 3 months is a wonderful time for a baby photo session! At this age baby is alert, smiling, interacting with parents and able to hold his or her head up. Baby is also typically on a bit more of a predictable schedule and parents are a bit more rested than in the early newborn days.
At 100 day or 3 month baby photography sessions, I aim to capture a variety of expressions and photograph baby on their back, on their tummy and with parents. If baby happens to get sleepy we will get some sleepy shots as well!
